Long Overdue!!!

Man, this is long overdue. Life has been hectic, since I last posted, my youngest has graduated.
We had a great day and a great party at home afterwards!!! Congratulations Larissa!!!

Thanks to all our wonderful Family and Friends, the day was a great success. We did miss Nichole and John they could not be here to join in the fun :-( We are looking forward to seeing them in October when Larissa and I take a vacation to visit them in New Haven..

Another big change at our house is the size of our "puppy" Gus.

He loves to chew anything in sight and Loves to eat my plants. I have since given all my plants to my mom and she brought them back to health. I go visit them!! My garden hose is now is 2 pieces instead of one? I thought it got ran over with the mower, nope it was the handy work of Gus!

I haven't gotten alot of knitting or weaving done. I have started a blanket to send along to college with Larissa. I'm only about 1/2 done.

A quick catch up on life at the Milk Ranch!! Yea, we are milking cows too!!

This and That

Wow, guess I'm not very good at keeping this blog updated. We've been busy as usual. Here is one reason..... We've been busy playing with our new puppy.... Gus, we all love him. I'll get another picture, cause he has grown alot since this picture. He is so much fun to play with and momma (nikki) is too.
I've knitting dishcloths and doing some crocheting.

Can you believe it?????

I had a whole post done and it went somewhere in never land. So here we go again.

First off, I have exciting news from my youngest daughter. She will graduate this year and she has won a state essay contest and received $3000 cash. Yes I said CASH!!! All I have to say is I'm not sure her feet have hit the ground yet. She is one happy camper. Mom and Dad of course instantly said it goes towards college. The only thing she wants to buy is a set of golf clubs. What a way to end your senior year. Way to go Riss!!!

I've been cleaning out some stuff. I sold my spinning wheel this week. It's been sitting in a corner frowning at me for a year, wondering why I made it sit there unused. So I knew that my friends daughter wanted one. I contacted her and made the drop on Saturday. They both (the wheel and Miraha) were smiling ear to ear. She will give her a good home.

I have been weaving some. I put a warp for 2 scarves on. The first is done and the second started. I find the weaving very relaxing. I do however think the knitting machine (matilda)is throwing the loom (Lucy) dirty looks!

Till Next Time

Oh Ya Baby!!!!

Anyone who knows me very well, knows that I LOVE purses. I have lots. Sometimes I have to hide them and bring them out slowly so no one starts asking questions!! LOL I seen a friend of mine has this on her blog so I'm following suit.

Go here to register for the giveaway as well..... Good luck but you already know that I'm going to win!!!

Frozen Tundra!!

Yep, my butt is still frozen in SD. As a friend so nicely pointed out tonight I could move to CA where it's warm!! Guess I'm one of the weird people of the world. I don't mind the cold as long as I don't have to be out in it for extended periods of time. Like say Milking cows. Then I wouldn't like it so well...........

I've been crocheting on the Oat Coutoure, Seaside blouse. I'll try to get pictures up soon. I have the back done and starting the front. It's the first thing I've ever crocheted to wear. I've crocheted for years, doilys, dolls, etc but never clothing. So we'll see if it fits when I'm done!!

We had an addition to our "farm family". Our new to us black lab (she came to live with us about 1 1/2 mo ago.) Had puppies in the last two days. We found her last night and sadly only 1 puppy survived. She is pretty young so feel lucky to even have 1 survivor. He is a pretty golden pup. when he gets a little bigger I'll take pictures of him too. Hmmm. I'm thinking a good name would be artic, since he was born during the coldest time of the year!!

It's Cold!!!

It's winter in South Dakota
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.

Oh, how I love South Dakota
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut!

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave South Dakota
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!

Keeping Busy...........

I've been making hats for charity. I joined a group called Save the Children, and have been crocheting baby hats. I have been using the ends of skeins. I also made a scarf for the special olympics but forgot to take a picture of it, what a wonderful feeling that was to send it off. I would love to see a picture of the athlete's and their scarves!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!
